REMINDERPRO HELP: REMINDER LIST WINDOW This window shows the list of reminders. Reminders are displayed by groups. The pop-up menu allows you to select the group from which you wish to display reminders. This menu also allows you to view all reminders at once. Reminder display elements Every reminder (or application launch or opening of a document) is displayed in the list with the following information: • The type (reminder or application launch or document) • The title • The next date and time for the reminder • Whether the reminder has an advance reminder option (indicated by a downward pointing arrow) • Whether the reminder is repeating (indicated by circular arrows) • Whether the reminder is currently on or turned off by you (a green check mark indicates on, a red ‘X’ indicates off) Scheduling a new reminder The four buttons at the top of the reminder list window allow you to schedule a new reminder, an application launch, the opening of a document or a pager reminder. When you schedule an item by clicking one of these buttons, the scheduled item is added to the group that is currently being displayed. If you are currently viewing items from all groups, the new item is added to the General group. You can also schedule reminders using templates that you have created. See help on templates for more information. Editing reminders To change an already scheduled reminder, select it in the list and double-click it. Deleting reminders To delete a reminder, simply select it and then do one of the following: • Hit the delete key. • Click the trash icon in the Reminder List window. • Select “Clear” from the “Edit” menu. Whenever you delete reminders, ReminderPro asks you to confirm the deletion. To bypass this confirmation, hold the option key down and then delete the reminders. Saving reminders to a file When a reminder is saved to a file the following information about the reminder is saved: • The title • The message • The date and time There are two ways to save a reminder to a file from within the ReminderPro application: • You can save the information about a reminder into a new text file. To do that, simply select the reminder and select “Save to file…” from the “File” menu. You will be asked for the name of the file and the location in which to save the file. • You can also append the reminder information to an existing text file. To do that, hold down the option key and then select the reminder and select “Save to file…” from the “File” menu. You will be asked for the text file to append the information to. Note that you can also save a reminder when it is displayed. This is different from saving reminders from within the ReminderPro application, which is described just above. Refer to the help topic “Scheduling Reminders” in the “Features” section for more information about saving reminders when they are displayed. Turning reminders on or off You can turn reminders off and turn them back on again any time you wish. To toggle between on and off, select the reminders and click over the green check mark or the red ‘X’ mark. If the reminder you click is currently on, ReminderPro asks you to confirm that you want to turn all the selected reminders off. You can bypass the confirmation by holding down the option key while turning the reminders off. If the reminder you click is currently off, all selected reminders are turned on. Sorting the list You can sort the reminder list by: • The type (reminder or application launch or document) • The title • The next date and time To sort by type, click on the word “Type”. To sort by title, click on the word “Title”. To sort by date and time, click on the words “Date/Time”. The sorting can be in ascending or descending order.
